This neighborhood network lists licensed business in the city and encourages residents to support local businesses. Living Green: The city’s Residential Tree Planting Rebate Program encourages residents to plant a new tree in their front yards. Hot Meals: Residents unable to cook for themselves can get inexpensive, hot and nutritious meals delivered to their houses daily with La Palma’s Meals for Wheels program, which has slots available for residents in need. Information: 724.690.3350.
Seniors Club: The La Palma Seniors Club meets from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursdays at the Community Center. The club, for those ages 50 and older, has games fundraisers, potlucks, luncheons, guest speakers and other activities. The yearly membership is $5.
Swimming Classes: The La Palma Recreation and Community Services is offering water-fitness classes those 55 and older at La Palma Intercommunity Hospital’s indoor, heated pool.
