Farmer’s Market: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays, The Village at Orange, 1500 E Village Way.

Farmer’s and Artisans Market: The Old Towne Orange Farmers and Artisans market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 pm. Saturdays at 304 N. Cypress St., at the corner of Palm Avenue. Information: OrangeHomeGrown.org.

Farmer’s Market #3: The market previously held at Irvine Ranch Historic Park has moved to Irvine Regional Park in Orange. The market is every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1 Irvine Park Road. Parking is free.

Monthly Flea Market: The Orange Flea Market will host vendors selling jewelry, musical instruments, collectibles and more from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month at 146 N. Grand St. The market and parking are free. Information: 714.721.2257.

Newsletter: The city launched a quarterly newsletter “Orange eNews.” Residents can subscribe at www.orangeiwatch.com.

Health Education: The UC Irvine Medical Center Douglas Hospital offers classes on Meditation Breathing Exercises, Grief Recovery, Preparing for Surgery and more. Location is Bldg 1, 101 The City Dr S, Orange; for details visit ucirvinehealth.org/events.

Nature Center: Santiago Oaks Nature Center is open the 1st Sunday of each month. Join a Park Ranger for a tour of the nature center and learn about local history, flora and fauna. All ages. Santiago Oaks Regional Park, 2145 N. Windes Dr. Information: ocparks.com/parks/santiago/

Paying Bills: Orange has an automated bill-pay kiosk which accepts credit cards, cash, check and debit cards. It is at City Hall outside the City Finance Department office at 300 E. Chapman Ave. Payments made before 9 p.m. are applied to your account that day. The kiosk is open 24 hours a day, every day.

Motor Oil Collection: The city provides free home collection of motor oil and used oil filters. Residents can call 800.449.7587 or email AtYourDoor@wm.com to schedule a pickup. Residents are asked to include their contact information and a list of items for pickup in the messages.

Library Deliveries: The Orange Public Library offers a homebound delivery service that brings library materials to patrons who cannot get to the library. The service is free. Information: call the library at 714.288.2471.

Facebook: The Orange City News has a Facebook page. Navigate to Facebook.com/TheOrangeCityNews and click “like” to get localized news and information in your newsfeed.

Free Music Downloads: The Orange Public Library is offering free MP3 music downloads on its website. The files do not have digital rights restrictions and do not expire. Cardholders with a PIN may download three songs a week from the library’s website: CityofOrange.org/Library

Community Notification: The Orange Police Department recently implemented a community e-mail notification system to help connect with residents and businesses in the city. The system, called i-Watch, is subscriber-based and free. Subscribe through OrangeiWatch.com. Information: 714.744.7444.

Radio Club: Covenant Amateur Radio Club meets at 6:25 p.m. every Monday in Room 229 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1855 N. Orange-Olive Road. Members rotate as net operator to maintain skills and emergency preparedness. They also conduct radio contests and volunteer locally. Information: k16wzu@earthlink.net.

Legal Workshops: The Asian Pacific American Legal Center will offer workshops between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. every Wednesday at the Lamoreaux Justice Center. The workshops are for non-represented Vietnamese Orange County residents who want to file for divorce, legal separation or nullity of marriage and must make an appointment and fill out an information packet prior to attending. Weight-Loss Meeting: The Tops Organization is a weight-loss group that meets at the Orange Senior Center every Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. Membership costs $1 monthly. Information: Barbara Wylie at 714.838.4077.

  1. Thanks for promoting the Orange Public Library! In addition to our free services like Freegal, Rocket Languages and Wowbrary, the library has lots of great free programs for all ages including our summer reading clubs for kids, teens and adults. A fun event for seniors is planned for Wednesday, July 13, from 2-3:30 pm at the Orange Public Library & History Center Seniors can play electronic games, like Wii Sports – Bowling or board games. Seniors are welcome to bring a friend of any age. Light refreshments will be served.
