Farmer’s Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays off of Santa Fe Avenue in Downtown Placentia.

Flexible Seniors: The Placentia-Linda Hospital and Fullerton YMCA are helping seniors with their flexibility and range of motion through chair yoga class. Classes are held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Cornerstone Methodist Church, 2050 Valencia Ave. and cost $20 per month. Information: 714.879.9622.

Speak Up: The city wants to hear residents’ ideas on community improvements. Residents can submit their ideas and have other residents comment or vote on them at City staffers have posted some topics on which they are seeking feedback.

Fire Safety: The Orange County Fire Authority is offering free fire-alert devices to people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing and live in multi-family home in the area. Information: 714.573.6153.

Oil Recycling: The city is providing residents with free 15-qt. containers for used motor oil and filters. Visit the Engineering counter at City Hall to obtain them. Information: 714.993.8148.

A Line of Hope: The city has teamed up with HopeLine, a Verizon program to help victims of domestic violence, for a cellphone program. Residents can drop off old cellphones, chargers and batteries at City Hall and also at the police station in boxes set out for that purpose. Information: 714.993.8117.

P-Town: The city has the P-Town Informer, an electronic community newsletter with tidbits from the latest City Council meeting, a police reports summary and other committee meeting summaries. Information:

Senior Transportation: The Placentia Senior Center, 143 S. Bradford Ave., offers free transportation to and from the center for residents of Placentia. Information: 714.986.2332.

Flower Group: The Southern California Orchid Species Society meets every second Sunday of the month at 2 p.m. at the Placentia Public Library, 411 E. Chapman Ave. The meetings are free; the annual membership is $5, which includes a monthly newsletter. Information:

Toastmasters: The Figures of Speech Toastmasters offers its members help reaching their speaking goals. The club meets every second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 7:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Denny’s meeting room, 108 E. Orangethorpe Ave. Information:

Book Sale: The Placentia Library Friends Foundation holds its monthly used book sale from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. the second Sunday of most months on the back loading dock at the library, 411 E. Chapman Ave. Proceeds will help pay for library programs. Information: 714.528.1906.

Free Bread: Placentia Neighborhood Services distributes bread to the community at 9 a.m. every Monday and at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays. The distribution is made at the Whitten Community Center, 900 S. Melrose Ave. Information: 714.986.2333.
